Mozilla Knows Advertising May 13, 2008

Adding Fire on Firefox

They’re not the first of web browsers, and their structure is even modelled from others, but they are nonetheless on top. A lot of competitors have been trying to get a share of their market, but instead they gave some to Mozilla.

So what makes Mozilla Firefox the best among web browsers?

Advertising.

And what is the best advertising campaign to promote products? Sexy shirts on Sexy Babes. (you can ask Hooters, or those Bikini Car washes about this).

If you look on the photo above, her shirt shows the Firefox logo obviously, but what makes it more noticeable and second look worthy is how it sexily wrapped around the body of this pretty girl, like the fox wrapped the globe of it’s logo. Now that is good advertising.

And one tip, make sure to type in the right url or you’ll get this notice.

The error you\'ll love

Hey, don’t do it on purpose…..

3 Critical:

  1. Good Advertising Indeed - the average stare duration of ads like this is 5.4 sec. For the female population that is.
  2. Where’s the Fox Looking At? - am I just that observant, or did you also wonder where that fox is looking at. Bad dog.
  3. Why Not - about the error message, why don’t they put pictures instead of those boring text’s that shows up when there’s an error?

NIKE on Elm Street - The Freddy Kreuger Shoes May 13, 2008

Freddy Kreuger Nike Shoes

In the cold dark night on Elm Street lies a terror unlike any other. A threat no one can handle, and a face that haunts us to our dreams. His name is Frederick Charles Kreuger, but people call him “Freddy“. Burned face, fedora hat, clawed leather gloves, and his trademark red and green striped sweater.

And now he’s back…… with a pair of Nike Shoes.

No wonder why he always keeps up with his victims when they run for their lives.

These shoes are a part of the Nike Dunk SB “Horror Pack”, which was released in November of 2007. The shoes is made up of a sweater material colored and striped in classic Red/Green (like Freddy’s striped sweater), a Metallic Silver Swoosh to represent Freddy’s Metal Claws, a Brown leather blood stained trim like Freddy’s trademark hat, and the sole to represent his burned face.

Now if you ask me why he keeps killing people without any probable reason,…. I’d say somebody told him to “Just Do It“.

3 Critical:

  1. The Price - I haven’t seen anything about the price of these shoes, but I just have a feeling it’s gonna be terrifying too.
  2. How bout the NBA? - is anyone bothering to consider using these pair of shoes in the NBA? It will look cool, and different, and weird, but you’ll get a name out of it for sure.
  3. Freddy’s Got A Nikes!!! - he’s not even on the top 10 of the greatest villains in some magazines, but did anyone above him on the list have pairs of shoes after them??? NO!!! so you guys better change that list and put “Freddy K(sounds cool for a Nike endorser right?) on top until they have their shoes.

gillian anderson

Back in 1998, the movie version of the award-winning TV-series “X-Files” hit the big screen with a lot of attention, and a couple million dollars (about $189 million give or take) which was expected anyway.

Now a sequel “X-Files: I Want To Believe“, will come out sometime this July. The movie is still in production, but I heard that it will be about an abduction of which case was closed years back, but evidences that would solve the mystery begins to show up which brings ex-agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dr. Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) back to action.

But that’s not my story.

My story happened way before everything else was finalized in the sequel. It’s something “X“citing, “X“cillerating, and se”X“y that happened elsewhere. Somewhere around the sexy magazine MA”X”IM. And her name is Gillian Anderson. The same Gillian that played Dr. Dana on X-Files, and she’s not in any way hiding her “X” factors as she poses sexily with more of her “sexy back” (or side) shown. Now thats one head start for the movie.

No wonder the aliens keep coming back.

More Photos here.

3 Critical:

  1. The Trivia - tell me how many X’s I used here and if you guessed it right, your blog will be on my blogroll. No joke.
  2. Is This Just Promotion? - entertainment has found many ways of marketing a movie way before it is shown, and it shows that it’s pretty effective, so my question would be. Is this just for promotions? I say it is, but in the other hand, she’s also hot.
  3. Less Skin For a Maxim Cover - is it just me, or are there less skin shown in her photos for a feature of a sexy magazine?

Will Smith is “Hancock” May 12, 2008

Hancock

They say “with great powers comes great responsibilities”… and great things you can do that most people can’t like: drinking in the air while flying in your normal day clothes catching criminals, throwing that annoying kid thousand miles above the ground and catching him back just to teach him a lesson, and pretty much everything else that normal people do. Superheroes also needed to change a bit, and I suggest they start with the line: “with great powers comes great responsibilities” and add “…or irresponsibilities” to it.

Now this makes more sense.

This coming July 2008, the theatres will be seeing a different kind of Superhero from the long line of superhero movies this year. Unlike the others, this ones not from any comic book, he doesn’t have a familiar costume, and this hero is alcoholic. haha. This is “Hancock” baby, and it’s played by none other than the best man for the film Will Smith.

The movie is about Hancock (Will Smith), a very unlikely, conflicted, unpolite, sarcastic (in short misunderstood) superhero who still manages to save peoples lives, but never fails to leave damages every time. A matter of which the people of L.A. are mostly concerned with so they decided to imprison him thinking he would make less damages there. Things started to change for him in jail, and one day, the city called for his help and Hancock finally got the chance to prove himself that he is not a liability and responded as one true superhero (wearing a very odd costume though, but still something to be proud of).

But the sarcasm?… It’s still there.

3 Critical:

  1. Marketing a Superhero - since when do superheroes badly need a PR (public relations) to get a good image out of the people?
  2. Never call him a Jackass - wanna know why? Watch the trailer here, and you’ll know why.
  3. What Superheroes Should Be - if you ask me, I think superheroes should live it like Hancock. He still saves lives right? No masks, no caves, no kryptonites, no pretending.. Just saving.

Just like “The Ultimate Gift” May 11, 2008

Ultimate gift

While I was watching the movie “The Ultimate Gift”, a good movie by the way, something else got my attention.

In the movie, Harold (main character) was informed about his dead grandfather’s inheritance to him through a video footage, but because it was unexpected he doesn’t really have a clue on what to do next. Now this situation alarmed me, cause I’m not really an expert on legalities like Harold, and if these things happen, I wouldn’t have a clue either.

So what do I do? Research. And I actually found companies that could help.

Like his grandfather did, I learned that we could actually hire the assistance of some alameda probate lawyer who unbelievably takes care of all the legal process regarding the deceased person’s property, resolving all matters about it’s claims and distribution. All you really need to do is sign and decide. (now that’s good service)

3 Critical:

  1. That’s a WOW - and it certainly is. I mean what is left to do with these kinds of services.
  2. Now I Understand - probate is actually a good word this time.
  3. What Can I Give? - when I’ll get old, I guess I only have this blog to give as inheritance.

Remembering The Car - 1970 Dodge Charger May 10, 2008

Dodge Charger

Cars have been getting much attention in movies that sometimes viewers seem to forget the stars, but definitely not the cars. This thing holds true with the big black muscle car, 1970 Dodge Charger. Old but classic, loud, mean, powerful, and nothing short of a monster on the road.

This car is seen in the movie Fast And The Furious driven by big muscle man himself Vin Diesel, or whom I’ll say is the human representation of the car.

But what makes this car a bit different than the usual? The answer would be the silver engine callouts on top of the hood. Those things add that extra muscle to it, making it meaner than mean.

I heard there’s a new car san diego made, modelled from the 1970 Dodge Charger. But I’m pretty sure the old still, and will rock the road.

And why not,… It’s a Dodge.

3 Critical:

  1. Black Is Bad - this could have been different if it came in white. Black makes it the bad one.
  2. The Rumble Inside - everytime it starts, you feel it.
  3. And The Callouts? - I’m just wondering if it was bothering the view of the driver. But nonetheless, it a plus.

A Thing Called “Inheritance Funding” May 9, 2008

What is “Inheritance Funding“? Is there really such a thing?

What if you need a certain amount of money (which you don’t have) in a short amount of time for an opportunity of a good investment, but all you have is a certain amount and a share of your parents property that you probably would inherit someday. What would you do?

I’d say you get a heir loan. It’s actually like borrowing money that you could acquire yourself “someday” with your share of inheritance. Pretty wise huh? And let me tell you a secret…. “I heard its interest free”. so this makes it better than the normal loan right? (things I read from Google)

Now, if you ask me if there’s such a thing. I’d say “Thank God there’s such a thing.”

3 Critical:

  1. So Practical - opportunities come and go and it’s just wise to grab it every time it’s their, and Inheritance funding just made it a whole lot easier for us.
  2. No Interest! - this may just be two words, but it surely meant a whole lot of things. And it’s all positive.
  3. So Wise - hands down to the founder of this idea.

The Mac Mail Box - Never Heard? May 9, 2008

mac mailbox

Check this out!!!. I bet none of you have heard of this before (except for the owner). I’ve seen Mac Books, iPOD, iPhone, iTouch, and other products made by Apple, but this??? Truly worth featuring for, and if you look very close… you won’t see any price. A bad thing for those who wanted one, just like me.

This “Mac Mailbox” is definitely one of it’s kind in the line of commercial mailboxes, and probably one of the classic ones that would sell but was not sold. But what bothers me most, is where the owner got it’s case. It probably is an old CPU case, but what if it was custom built? What if it’s one of those collector item mail boxes they only give to “Apple” executives. What if it was offered to be sold on a limited supply only?

Well, whatever it is I’m sure a lot of you would agree, and if you won’t, I still won’t change my mind when I say that this, is by far, the best commercial mailbox , decoration, or even a science project I have ever seen in the internet.

3 Critical:

  1. The Old Fashion Way - if I ever have a Mail Box like this, I would prefer to be mailed the old fashion way. Not the one where the address has a ‘@’ sign on it.
  2. Gone Commercial? - is this one of those commercial mailboxes they are selling online? Please let me know.
  3. Mail Box Robbery - with mail boxes this good, I won’t be surprised if the number of stolen mailboxes increase.

Erik Spoelstra - The First Filipino in the NBA May 9, 2008

Erik Spoelstra - first Filipino in the NBA

It was every Filipinos dream to have atleast one Filipino in the most prestigious Basketball League in the planet, the NBA. And a few weeks ago, that dream became a reality.

His name is Erik Spoelstra, the new Head Coach of the Miami Heat.

Ok, so he’s not a player. But nevertheless, he’s gonna be a big name in the NBA, and we’ll probably be proud that he was a Filipino.

He started his career with the HEAT as the team’s Video Coordinator in charge of preparing scouting tapes for the team and slowly made his way up as the Heat’s assistant coach, but that was until he was named to succeed Pat Riley as head coach of the young, and adjusting Heat team.

Born Nov. 1, 1970, the “Dutch-Irish-Filipino” Spoelstra becomes the NBA’s youngest coach (exactly 69 days younger that Nets coach Lawrence Frank), but he is never new to the game. Erik is (by the way) the son of Jon Spoelstra, a long-time NBA executive who has guided the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets and New Jersey Nets, and this means just one thing. He’s been around the game to understand it.

Among his records (as a player) include playing two seasons as a player/coach for Tus Herten, a team in the professional sports league of Germany, playing starting point guard for the University of Portland for four years and was named the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year.

Now here’s one Filipino we should be proud of.

3 Critical:

  1. Finally One - a lot of Filipino hopefuls have been trying to break entrance to the NBA, but no one seems to come close.
  2. Go Pinoy!!! - that’s what we’re called, and they all know were not stopping towards achievement.
  3. Be An Inspiration - I hope he realizes that he is now, not just an achievement but also an inspiration to every Filipino. He’s hard working is paying, and so can ours.

Do these dresses look familiar? May 7, 2008

Condom Dress

Look at how these pretty Chinese (or asian) girls pretty much compliments the beauty of their dress. At first glance you wouldn’t suspect anything wrong with it considering that it just looks like a lot of dresses that even kids usually use. The light colors give it an additional pastel beauty to it, and (what seemed to me) are truffles look like pretty with the whole thing. It’s actually very cute for someone that’s not that observant. But trust me… it’s more than just a normal dress.

Allow me to describe it as simply as I can. Let’s just say it’s not made of cloth, but it is something we can wear. It doesn’t even have a garter, but it sure can stretch a bit more than it’s usual size. It has different colors, but usually we classify it as flavors. Still confusing? OK, this next one’s probably gonna give you an idea of what it’s really made of. Let’s just say you can buy them in a drug store, or a convenient store, and it usually hangs near the counter. Familiar???

Yes folks, sorry to disappoint your creative minds (if it did) but this pretty dresses are made of up Condoms. Not balloons, but Condoms. I’m not sure if they are used though, and comfortwise? I guess you’ll have to ask those ladies how they feel.

Yet another brilliant invention….. but no one’s claiming it yet.

3 Critical:

  1. Japanese Technology? - these girls are surely Asian, but is this yet another Japanese invention?
  2. Flexibility of A Condom - not only are they just physically flexible, but also by purpose. You see, now everyone is glad to have a condom in the right place, at the right time.
  3. Pretty Safe - being pretty is one thing, and being safe is another. But with condom dresses, Pretty Safe becomes one.
