A cover of a lot of numerous magazines (ESPN, Time, etc…), a self-record-breaking athlete, an endorser of many brands, and a 6-time gold medalist (before Beijing Olympics) are just some of the things that make this “Pool SharkMichael Phelps one of the most impressive athlete in the world today.

Phelps is an American swimmer who won 8 (6 of which are gold) medals on the 2004 summer Olympics in Athens. He started his olympic days at the age of 15 when he competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, making him the youngest American male swimmer in an Olympic Game in 68 years. Throughout his swimming days, he’s been holding (and breaking) world records in different swimming events earning him the name World Swimmer of the Year in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and American Swimmer of the Year in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.

Now just merely 2 days after the Beijing Olympics formally started, Phelps has already won 2 gold medals (Men’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay and Men’s 400m Individual Medley). And that’s 2 out of the 8 events in which he is aiming to win.

Is he the fastest man on the pool? That is the question he’s trying to answer.

3 Critical:

  1. Water World – if you’ve seen the movie, then you’ve probably seen Kevin Costner swim like a fish… but that’s just a movie. But that’s until this guy (Phelps) showed the world it’s entirely possible.
  2. The Athlete – wonder why he’s that good? Just look for videos of his training and you’ll definitely know why. This is one determined (even with a lot of golds) athlete you got here.
  3. A Fish? – this guy can swim with one hand, one feet, no hands, and he does faster than most people can swim using both hands and feet. King of the pool if you ask me.
