The Forbidden Kingdom“. A movie I’m surely waiting for, but wasn’t eally sure there’ll be one. And just to answer the question “Why?” I’ll give you five(5) words: Jet Li and Jackie Chan. Just two of the best Kung Fu artists in the world of television (and in reality).

The movie will be released in theatres this coming April 18, 2008.

And just a little spoiler:

Rumors says and guarantees that it’s not about two Chinese men in a barn, or a ranch somewhere, and then something happens. No Back’s or mountains are broken in these movie. (If you know what I mean.)

Actually, the movie is about an American teenager who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kung fu classics makes an extraordinary discovery in a Chinatown pawnshop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King. With the lost relic in hand, the teenager unexpectedly finds himself traveling back to ancient China to join a crew of warriors from martial arts lore on a dangerous quest to free the imprisoned Monkey King.

The poster alone tells everything you need to know.

3 Critical:

  1. A Kung Fu Classic – who says classics has to be old? All it needs is a couple of fighters who could beat about 41 people at a time. Or More.
  2. Who’s That White Hair? – maybe she’s that old, or maybe it’s just dye. I usually choose the latter.
  3. A Lot Of English – aside from thefighting scenes and unbelievabl Kung Fu, we all need to enjoy their English.
